[For a few seconds, the audio feed only gives off static. Crackles of life soon follow, as well as cuts and bits of a woman's voice.]

--ou broke i-- --y? I told y-- --ot-- --row it.

[Yep, barely out of the box and it seems that this newcomer has already trashed her gear pretty well. There's a static-filled sigh, though she doesn't seem particularly upset with whoever she's speaking to.]

Wonder if it st-- --ks. --at's-- --light? Hello? If anyo-- --ear m--

--isa. Lisa G-- --nd. Where a-- --le-- --Hill?

[The woman falls silent for a few moments. Apparently, she had been figuring out the buttons, as the audio feed switches to a weak video. It shows a wide-eyed blonde. Maybe it's the flickering screen or the slightly-distorted picture, but it almost looks like there's...blood on her clothes--a nurse uniform.]

Is-- --van? I tho-- --s dead...

[And the feed ends there. Sorry, but any replies from Lisa will be pretty choppy for a while, it seems!]

[Oh good, the communicator thing still works for...the mostpart. Lisa pauses a second to consider his question.

She was physically fine, she supposed, but her mind was kind of...reeling.]

[He looks a mixture of reassuring and curious when he answers.]}

There's no blaming you for that. Put simply, you're in a different world. But I suspect it's better than the one you came from.

[He earns a weak, crackling chuckle for that. Her expression through the static is one part nervous and two parts relieved.]

_{[He gives her a halfway crooked smile. Not a happy one, rather just one that means he kinda knows of what she's talking about.]}

Think you're up to the journey you have ahead of you? I'm sure 'mom' filled you in on that.

[Lisa nods, but as she figures that the picture quality is just as iffy as the audio, she adds:]

_{[He frowns for a second before he understands. He hopes she gets that fixed soon enough.]}

Wherever you want to go, really, but taking Route 29 to Cherrygrove is a good start - not to mention the only way out of New Bark. You can find a job and a place to stay there. And probably get someone to look at repairing your Gear.

[Lisa had seen the way to the route, but given the weather... Well, she's taken refuge in the lab, for now. At the suggestion, though, she resolves to set out in the morning. The blonde offers Cooper a small smile.]
