[For a few seconds, the audio feed only gives off static. Crackles of life soon follow, as well as cuts and bits of a woman's voice.]
--ou broke i-- --y? I told y-- --ot-- --row it.
[Yep, barely out of the box and it seems that this newcomer has already trashed her gear pretty well. There's a static-filled sigh, though she doesn't seem particularly upset with whoever she's speaking to.]
Wonder if it st-- --ks. --at's-- --light? Hello? If anyo-- --ear m--
--isa. Lisa G-- --nd. Where a-- --le-- --Hill?
[The woman falls silent for a few moments. Apparently, she had been figuring out the buttons, as the audio feed switches to a weak video. It shows a wide-eyed blonde. Maybe it's the flickering screen or the slightly-distorted picture, but it almost looks like there's...blood on her clothes--a nurse uniform.]
Is-- --van? I tho-- --s dead...
[And the feed ends there. Sorry, but any replies from Lisa will be pretty choppy for a while, it seems!]
[ooc: Getting this in before tomorrow's teeth-pulling. Tags might be slow over the weekend, but I will do my best!]
[Video] pain-tagging, whoooo.
Date: 2012-02-10 05:47 pm (UTC)Lisa's brain seems to lose the capability to function for awhile, and she's left with staring at the girl with wide, disbelieving eyes. Once she regains some composure, she manages to speak with a dulled tone.]
I'm... I'm fine.
[And then she remembers the other question, and tilts the gear to show a small, pink creature. The Happiny waddles forward, arms extended, clearly wanting to take the gear again. Before it can reach the device, however, Lisa pulls it back. But she doesn't move to change the view back to her face just yet. This.... This was easier.]
H-- --ny thing thr-- .
[Video] ;-; /pats
Date: 2012-02-11 12:59 am (UTC)[Heather is honestly just amazed that she was even RECOGNIZED. But aside from the shock, it's kind of a relief. Saves some awkward explanation. ... Not that there won't still be a lot of awkward explanations.]
[When the camera swivels away to show the Happiny, Heather can't help but be struck by how... fitting the choice is.]
[But the more pressing issue is this one of communication. Heather squints and furrows her brow, trying to make out the garbled voice.]
I-- ... I can't understand you. At all.
Date: 2012-02-11 01:23 am (UTC)The response that Heather gets will be ever more unhelpful that the ones she's received so far--so much so that I won't even bother typing the majority of it. All that's really left through the static is the implication that Lisa has started to talk a bit faster, trying to explain the situation through rambling. Her brain's lost that filter that tells her how to hold a productive conversation, it seems.
A few moments, though, and the blonde's gear goes quiet. Then, by some miracle, it decides to cooperate. Perhaps it was the excessive cutting of words in her jumbled explanation. Lisa's voice is soft, this time around, and she sounds more than a bit defeated.]
I'm sorry... It broke, and I don't know how to get a new one. ...Alessa, what's going on?
Date: 2012-02-11 02:15 am (UTC)[Heather can only watch and listen somewhat helplessly to the longwinded garble of static and voice clips-- until at last the 'Gear starts to spit out something coherent. Tilting her head to the side with a furrowed brow, she speaks. It has to be fast, she doesn't know how long the gadget will keep working.]
No, it's-- it's okay.
Look. Um... it's a really long story, and I dunno how much sense it's gonna make, but-- uh.
What's... what's the very last thing you remember?
[Video] ...bit of headcanon, oh well.
Date: 2012-02-11 02:53 am (UTC)Lisa hesitates at the question. Once figuring that
AlessaHeather means what she remembers before waking up on a strange bed in a strange house with a strange lady in a strange world...there's clearly something making the nurse uncomfortable. It's not just that fact that, really, the only clear memory that could be qualified as the last one involved her mutating into a monster, it's also that...she has a vague memory of things more horrific. Of actually being that creature and acting out on her bottled up rage and hatred.
So no, this time the lack of words isn't because of trashed state of her gear. When she finally does speak, her words are hesitant, and slightly chopped by crackling. Lisa's got nothing to lose, really, by telling the other woman, but...]
There was...a man. I had been tryi-- --find his daughter, from-- --spital, but I... I died...
[Well, sort of.]
[Video] OH! While we're on the subject, do you wanna discuss castmate headcanon at any point?
Date: 2012-02-11 03:10 am (UTC)[The girl nods in what she hopes is a reassuring gesture, but deep down she knows there's probably little to reassure Lisa WITH.]
All right... it's okay, you don't have to um... go into it if you don't want to.
[She knows where-- or WHEN, rather-- Lisa is coming from now so that's enough for the moment.]
Okay, this is gonna sound really weird, but this place-- where we are right now? Is a different world.
[Video] Haha, sure! Though idk just how much I could contribute, really.
Date: 2012-02-11 03:33 am (UTC)Y-- --at a man had said. [A brief pause.] Ale-- --ace bet-- --than...that one? That other Silent--
Oh, I just mean to get details straight! So that Heather's memories don't contradict Lisa's and stuf
Date: 2012-02-11 03:52 am (UTC)It's okay!
We're safe.
It's safe here.
[... Mostly.]
AH. Gotcha. Welp, my answer is still pretty much the same. Just whenever you feel like discussing it
Date: 2012-02-11 04:16 am (UTC)Good... Good.
[Heather is studied for another moment, and then Lisa speaks up through the static.]
Wh-- --we doing h-- --lessa? And why are y-- --o-- --ffrent?
All right! c: I'll private-plurk ya sometime soon.
Date: 2012-02-11 06:47 am (UTC)[For the first time in this frazzled exchange, Heather actually smiles. It's a little sheepish, but it's a smile nonetheless, and that's an expression that Lisa probably never saw on Alessa's face. Hell, Alessa's face probably hadn't been capable of making expressions after what had happened to her.]
[It's a pity... because the girl's face is clearly one of those ones built to smile.]
That's... a really long story.
o7
Date: 2012-02-11 12:44 pm (UTC)I... I see.
[Not really, but hey. She wasn't going to pry, after the other blonde allowed her the same courtesy, even if she was desperate for answers. There is one thing, though, that she will ask.]
Are we both dead? Is-- --eavan?

Date: 2012-02-11 10:52 pm (UTC)Unless she's doing one of her big toothy I'MA BITECHA onesSeeeee? She's not so bad!]I'll-- I'll tell you the whole thing, I promise. It just... might be better to do it once you get a new--.... thingie.
['Gear. Whatever.]
[The questions make her bite her lip, though. Death is a sensitive topic.]
... Some people who come here are dead. And... some people think it's Heaven. It's not, but... it is nice.
[... When it isn't taking people away, anyway...]

Date: 2012-02-11 11:49 pm (UTC)Okay.
[Lisa inhales slowly, leveling her gaze on the younger once more.]
I'm s-- --eep asking you ques-- --ns, but... Where can-- --new one? Do you know?

Date: 2012-02-12 07:25 am (UTC)[The teen lets out a whoof of breath, biting her lip as she thinks.]
Um...
Well, I know you can get one in the next town over. But that's a bit of a walk, especially in the cold. ... Well. More than a bit. You'll be needing to camp out, essentially.
When I got here, it was summertime so it wasn't so bad, but... winter's rough.
Um... if you see that professor guy tottering around, you could ... ask him to try and fix it for you, I guess? I don't know if he'll do it, though...

Date: 2012-02-12 02:27 pm (UTC)At the reminder of the professor, Lisa looks up from where she's settled on the floor in an attempt to spot him.]
--eems busy... Ema-- --one named Aurea.
[The nurse sighs soft before leaning against the wall again.]
I'll j-- --t tomorrow. Try to spen-- --ight here...

Date: 2012-02-13 11:04 am (UTC)Good idea.
At least you'll be able to ... y'know. Stay warm there.
.... I uh...
[She rubs the back of her neck a little awkwardly.]
... It's good to see you.
no subject
Date: 2012-02-13 03:13 pm (UTC)She was, of course, grateful for Alessa/Heather's presence. She was the only familiar thing she'd come across, and the girl had certainly been helpful. But Lisa's own feelings about the patient that had barely been alive, burned practically beyond recognition...
How could they have been happy to see each other?]
I... Yeah. It's good-- --oo, Alessa.
[The smile is strained, certainly, and her voice does have the slightest quiver to it, but saying it somehow made it feel more true.]

Date: 2012-02-13 03:53 pm (UTC)[See, as much as those seven years were the worst thing that Alessa-- and Heather-- had ever experienced? ... Lisa was the best thing about them. The only thing that had even made them remotely bearable, although they had not actually been bearable at all.]
[But one look at Heather's face (at the returned sentiment, shaky though it was, her unsure expression had bloomed into a bright grin) should tell Lisa that she means it in complete earnestness which is probably super awkward but there you go.]
If there's anything I can do to help you out, just gimme the wo-- OH! Oh, hey, I know!
I'll-- I'll send you some supplies or something. To help you get to the next town. I'll tell Dad you're here, and-- oh. Oh, man! Dad'll be so glad to see you!
[Harry had named his starter Pokemon after her, after all... although the sight of a weathered, middle-aged Harry will probably be a bit of a shock to the poor nurse's system.]

Date: 2012-02-15 05:35 pm (UTC)Because seriously, w h a t, she has to be dreaming, right?
And then Lisa snaps out of it a little and frowns.]
...'Dad'?
[As far as she knew, Alessa had only been raised by Dahlia.]
no subject
Date: 2012-02-16 11:11 pm (UTC)MINDFUCK LANDJohto, Lisa.]Da-- oh.
Yeah, I guess you wouldn't know, huh.
Harry. Harry Mason.
He, uh-- ... He adopted me.
[That's a lot simpler than explaining that he had adopted the missing chunk of her soul, and THEN later adopted the rest of her. ... In a new body. ... After handing it to him herself and then presumably dying horribly at the same time as she escaped with him.]
no subject
Date: 2012-02-17 05:13 pm (UTC)Harry?
[Lisa perks up a little at that, because yayyyy, friend is here. The nurse tilts her head a little, voice inquisitive.]
Did-- --ind his d-- --r Cheryl?
no subject
Date: 2012-02-18 07:21 am (UTC)He-- ... yeah. Yeah, he found her.
[It's not a lie... not even a little. She IS Cheryl... she has the memories. The experiences. And yet... Cheryl as Harry had known her was gone. To forge that little piece of soul back into the whole, that individual piece had been lost.]
[Even he had admitted that naming the baby Cheryl as if she was the same person, shrunk back down, was a mistake.]
He found her okay.
